Gen X: A big sensation from your childhood is making a comeback.
Kellogg’s is bringing back toys inside cereal boxes. The first run is already in stores, so you may have noticed them if you’ve been down the cereal aisle this week.
It’s a nostalgia thing, but it’s also tied to “Toy Story 5”.
The toys are in special boxes of a lot of cereals including Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Cocoa Krispies. There are “Toy Story” figures along with collectible spoons, trading cards, and movie ticket promotions.
This is the first time Kellogg’s has put toys in cereal in more than a decade and for now, it sounds like it’s just a limited time thing, but who knows. If it’s a big success, maybe they’ll keep it going.
