Answer: The World Cup

Clues: “Pitch” and “Goal”

The World Cup kicks off tomorrow, and even though most of the games take place in the United States, Americans don’t care.

According to a new poll, 54% of Americans are not at all interested in the tournament.  Another 14% are “not very interested.”

Only 13% say they’re very interested, and another 16% say they’re “somewhat interested.”

59% of Americans don’t expect to watch any matches, while 16% say they’ll watch when they can, and 5% will watch matches every day.

In a separate poll, 72% of U.S. soccer fans say they would bet against their own team if they thought they could win money.

The most traitorous state is North Carolina, where 87% would betray the United States.  Connecticut is the most faithful state, with “only” 50% willing to commit athletic treason.
