Having a bad hair day?  Blame your parents.  A study found the pattern your hair grows in is determined by multiple genes they collectively passed down to you.  In other words, your bad hair was a total group effort.

That circular pattern of hair at the crown of your head is called your “hair whorl.”  Just like fingerprints, your hair whorl is unique, like which hairs point in what direction, and whether it goes clockwise or counterclockwise.
