Answer: Back-to-School Shopping per kid
Clues: “Desk” and “Supplies”
A back-to-school shopping survey found it costs parents an average of $586 per child. That’s actually down slightly from last year when it was $597.
Two-thirds of parents said they already did most of their shopping last month though, to get the best deals.
Parents spend the most on clothing and accessories. Tech is next, so things like new computers and tablets. School supplies are third.
61% say their kid usually manipulates them into spending more than they wanted to. But there’s a good chance you’re not just shopping for your kid. 50% of parents admit they usually end up shopping for themselves too.
When we can’t afford it all, our top two tactics are using coupons and opening a new credit card. 77% of parents say their kid’s education is something they’re willing to go into debt for.
