Answer: Memorial Day travel

Clues: “Holiday” and “Miles”

Triple-A released its Memorial Day travel report, and they’re predicting a record number of Americans will travel this year.  The current record has stood for two decades.

They expect 45.1 million people to travel this year, up about 3% from 2024.  The record is 44 million, set in 2005

39.4 million will drive this year, 3.6 million will fly and just over 2 million will use some other form of transportation, like buses or trains.

They’re predicting an additional one million people on the roads compared to a year ago, so choose your departure time wisely.

It depends on where you’re going.  But in general, there tends to be less traffic early in the morning.  If you leave around noon, expect delays.
