A new study in the “Journal of Urban Economics” found heavy traffic makes us gain weight. And it all comes down to meal choices.
Researchers looked at three years’ worth of traffic and GPS data. They found heavy traffic made people more likely to eat fast food, especially for dinner.
They think it’s because you’re less likely to want to cook when you’ve been stuck in traffic.
People were also less likely to swing by the grocery store when traffic was bad.
