Answer: Falls “Passionately in Love”

Clues: “Plunge” and “Passion”

According to a study, the average American falls “passionately in love” just twice in their lifetime.  And 14% of single adults have never experienced passionate love at all

Only 11% of people say they have experienced passionate love “four or more times.”  And men are more likely to experience it than women.

The study included more than 10,000 people, between the ages of 18 and 99. And when asked if they’d experienced that intense butterflies-in-the-stomach love, about 30% said it’s happened with one person, and another 30% said it’s happened twice. Those were by far the most common answers.

Naturally, the numbers increased with age, which means that it isn’t only a young person thing, it happens throughout life.

The study didn’t define “passionate love,” leaving it up to interpretation.  But generally, it’s that early-relationship intensity, “obsessively thinking about your partner, intense longing when you’re apart, and heightened arousal when you’re together.”
