Answer: Phone scrolling

Clues: “Device” and “Scan”

A mattress company recently conducted a wide-ranging survey on Americans’ sleep habits, and here are some fun stats that came out of it:

1.  Americans average 6.6 hours of sleep per night, which is less than the 7.1 hours they’d consider “ideal.”

2.  In a typical month, we get just 10 “perfect” nights of sleep and eight “bad” nights.

3.  About 25% of people go to bed during the 10:00 P.M. hour, making it the most popular bedtime.  35% get in bed sometime before that, while 37% go to bed later.

4.  39% prefer to sleep on the right side of the bed. 32% prefer to be on the left.  At the same time, 31% like to pick the side furthest from the door, and 25% prefer the side that’s closer.

5.  And around 67% of people say that watching TV and movies, or phone-scrolling counts as “part of going to bed.”  75% of Gen Z and Millennials agree, but only about half of Boomers are onboard with that.
