A new poll found 70% of Americans go with their gut, or rely on it to some extent, when making big life decisions.

They used “gut instincts” as a catch-all.  It includes your intuition, general “vibes” you’re feeling, or any insight you might get from prayer.

They asked about 10 big decisions you may have already made at some point in your life.  Would you mostly use your gut to decide on these things?  Or would your choice be more rational and fact-based?

1.  Choosing a job.  32% have picked a job based on gut instincts.

2.  Deciding where to move, 26%.

3.  Breaking up with someone, 26%.

4.  Quitting a job or switching careers, 24%.

5.  Getting a pet, 21%.

6.  What to invest money in, 20%.

7.  Getting married, 20%.

8.  Going on a first date, 19%.

9.  Buying a home, 18%.

10.  Deciding to go back to school, 13%.
