Answer: Packages to Porch Pirates

Clues: “Delivery” and “Theft”

According to new research, Americans lost an estimated $15.7 billion to porch pirates last year alone.  That’s from 241 million stolen packages.

The average loss isn’t huge.  It’s $65 per package, and 85% are under $100, but that doesn’t make the inconvenience any less infuriating.  And in some cases the loss of money as well.

The most commonly stolen packages were from Amazon (72%), followed by UPS (31%), FedEx (30%) and USPS (29%).

States like New York, Hawaii, and Wisconsin report the most porch pirates, while Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Maine report the fewest thefts.
