In the emerging “age of artificial intelligence,” a lot of workers have a simple request:  What is it?

Answer: Praise

Clues: “Receive” and “Applause”

In a new survey, 83% of U.S. employees say praise is “more important than ever” in the age of A.I.  That sounds like proof that a human connection remains essential, but maybe not.

Nearly 60% of employees say A.I.-tailored recognition, such as “personalized praise alerts,” is just as meaningful as recognition from a human manager.

And nearly 75% say they’re more likely to stay at a company where A.I. and humans work together on recognition and engagement.

On one hand, that seems strange.  As automation is replacing some human workers, remaining workers want to be told they’re valued,  but they’re okay with A.I. being used to communicate that?

Maybe these workers get an extra jolt out of having artificial intelligence telling them that their human intelligence is valued and irreplaceable.  For now, at least.
