Answer: Election season
Clues: “Selection” and “Polls”
Election Day is less than three weeks away, and most of us are thrilled that the nonstop political ads, mailers, spam calls and texts, signs and news reports will finally die back down.
But not everyone. Some people are actually having so much fun with this election that they’re sad it’s coming to an end.
A poll asked 3,000 Americans, “Are you generally enjoying this presidential election, or do you wish it were over?”
67% say they can’t wait until it’s over, 12% are “not sure,” and 21% say they’re enjoying it, and wish it could continue.
The demographic who’s enjoying it the most is: Young African American men, living in the Northeastern U.S., who are Democrats or Republicans.
The demographic who’s hating it the most is: Female Boomers in the Midwest, who consider themselves Independents.
Elsewhere in the poll, 43% of people say they’ve heard too much about the election. 33% say they’ve heard enough to have the information they need and 10% claim there’s just not enough discussion about the election.
Finally, there’s a new report out on the “most and least politically-engaged states,” and the most engaged are: Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Oregon and Washington state.
The five least engaged are: Arkansas, Alabama, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Indiana.
And, despite all the attention, for the hyped “swing states” Wisconsin is 17th most engaged, Pennsylvania is #20, Michigan is #26, Nevada is #27, Georgia is #33 and North Carolina is #40.
