Murray Mayhem 2026 Contest Rules

102.9 The HOG / WHQG’s “Murray Mayhem” contest is an online contest that will occur from March 15th, 2026 at 7pm until the completion of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament on Monday, April 6th, 2026. Registration for the overall bracket and overall grand prize is from March 15th, 2026 at 7pm until approximately 15 minutes before the first “First Round” game on March 19th, 2026. One entrant will win a grand prize package that consists of a $250 Visa gift card, courtesy of JRV Exteriors, $250 Visa gift card, courtesy of Gene Wagner Plumbing, a $200 Sound Decisions gift certificate, and a Custom Smoker, courtesy of Fat Daddy Smokers, valued at $1200. The overall grand prize package has a value of $1900. The grand prize will be awarded on or about Tuesday 4/7/26, and the winner will be notified by phone and/or email. All winners will be chosen based on the scoring, tiebreaker, and overall Official Rules provided by Audience.

When the teams participating in the 16 team and semifinal rounds are decided, entrants can return to their original bracket setup and make fresh bracket picks for the rounds of 16 and 4, individually. All scoring, tiebreaker, legal and policy rules that apply to the main 64 team bracket also apply to the 16 team round and semifinal brackets.

The entrant with the highest new bracket score beginning with the round of sixteen teams through the championship final, which take place beginning on March 26th, 2026 through April 6th, 2026, will win a pair of Five Finger Death Punch tickets at American Family Insurance Amphitheater on 8/13/26, a retail value of $119. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker procedures, as laid out by Audience in their Official Rules will be followed. The winner will be chosen on or about Tuesday April 7th, 2026, and the winner will be notified by phone and/or email.

The entrant with the highest bracket score during the combined semifinal round of four teams and the championship game, which take place beginning on April 4th, 2026 through April 6th, 2025, will win a pair of Muse tickets at American Family Insurance Amphitheater on 7/2/26, with a retail value of $382. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker procedures, as laid out by Audience in their Official Rules will be followed. The winner will be chosen on or about Tuesday April 7th, 2026, and the winner will be notified by phone and/or email.

To participate in the Audience national contest, you must follow the same how to enter terms noted below. Audience is responsible for all prizes in connection with its national contest.

Patrons may enter the contest online at 1029thehog.com by completely filling out the entry from on the contest page to create a contest user profile. Entrants can sign up to play beginning March 15th, 2026 at approximately 7pm and going until March 19th, 2026 until approximately 9:59AM (CDT) or approximately 15 minutes before the first “First Round” game on 3/19/26. Part of the registration process will be filling out a bracket of 63 match ups. Bracket predictions must be completed and submitted between March 15th, 2026 following team selection announcements for the designated Men’s College Basketball Tournament and March 19th, 2026 prior to 9:59AM (CDT). All picks are saved automatically and can be changed and modified until brackets close at 9:59AM (CDT) on March 19th,

2026. After the completion of the men’s college basketball tournament, the local participant with the most overall correct teams matched in their bracket to the actual men’s tournament bracket will win the local Grand Prize. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker procedures, as laid out by Audience in their Official Rules will be followed. The Grand Prize winner will be chosen after the men’s tournament is completed on or about April 7th, 2026. The winner will be contacted sometime on or about April 7th, 2026 and prize pick up will be coordinated directly with the winner. We will make reasonable efforts to award Prizes within 30 days after winning. In the event the 2026 Men’s Basketball Tournament is canceled prior to its completion, the national and local prize will be null and void. You may enter this contest only one time. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple, or different email addresses, identities or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified.

The winner will be responsible for any and all state, local, and federal taxes attached to the promotion. All prizes are non-transferrable nor redeemable for cash.

WHQG contests are open to all eligible Wisconsin residents 18 or older have not won anything on WHQG in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 90 days. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WHQG, (Milwaukee Media Group), and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WHQG) main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is the current legal guardian.

WHQG reserves the right to amend these rules to any contest at any time.

WHQG General Contest Rules

These are the rules governing all contests aired on 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG radio and on the 1029thehog.com website or 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG mobile app, unless otherwise specified. In the following rules, “102.9 THE HOG/WHQG” means Lakefront Communications, LLC, dba Milwaukee Media Group and its parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., which owns 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG radio:

  1. No purchase is necessary to enter any 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG contest.
  2. To be eligible to win any prize on 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG you must not have won anything on 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG in the past 30 days or any prize valued at 600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
  3. Anytime you call the 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG studios you assume that your call will be broadcast or recorded and you grant us permission to broadcast the call or record it for later broadcast.
  4. As a winner of a 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG contest your voice, name and/or picture may be used for promotional, broadcast, or internet purposes without any compensation to you.
  5. Prizes awarded are not redeemable for cash. No prize is transferable. No substitution for a prize will be made at the request of winner. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value.
  6. All winners of all contests are responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. All winners of a prize valued at $600 or more awarded on or before 12/31/2025 or of a prize valued at $2,000 or more awarded on or after 1/1/2026 will be required to complete the appropriate tax forms at the 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG studios prior to claiming prize. All winners will be sent a 1099 MISC federal tax form if in one calendar year the prize value of all prizes won exceeds the previous specified value.
  7. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like), 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be thus deemed as (102.9 THE HOG/WHQG) awarding the prize to the winner. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG shall be entitled to rely in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
  8. All 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG contests are open to all eligible residents 18 or over (unless otherwise specified) living within 75 miles of station transmitter(s). Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG that will be presented to 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG and accepted before the prize is awarded. Employees of 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG, it's advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and their spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
  9. Winners will be expected to claim prize at the 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG studios, 5407 West McKinley Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53208, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) within 30 days of being notified that they are winners, unless there is an expiration date on prize, which will be specifically stated.
  10. Where the prize(s) consists of paper tickets (“will-call tickets”) the winner will be directed to go to a specified address and retrieve the will-call tickets, and, by entering the contest, the contestant agrees to pick up will-call tickets and sign and deliver to 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG a waiver form as directed. Where the prize(s) consists of electronic (digital) concert or event tickets (“e-tickets”), the winner will receive an email from 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG with a hyperlink to an electronic waiver form that the winner must sign and return to the 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG before the prize will be transferred to the winner. The e-tickets will be transferred to the winner by 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG or, in some cases, by a third party (for example, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, etc.) and the winner must check his or her email account for an email or cellular mobile number for a text message from the ticket provider in order to download the e-tickets. Where e-tickets are a prize, as a condition of entering the contest, redeeming and using e-tickets requires the winner (i) to have a valid email address and an app-enabled mobile device capable of downloading and running a third-party mobile ticketing app (e.g., Ticketmaster, Live Nation, etc.); (ii) to install, or have already installed, such mobile ticketing app on their app-enabled mobile device; and (iii) to log into an existing user account or sign up for a free user account with the third-party operating such mobile ticketing app by completing a form with all required information, including, at a minimum, the winner's first name, last name, valid email address and telephone number. E-tickets awarded as a prize in such contests cannot be redeemed or used by any means other than the designated third-party mobile ticketing app for the e-tickets. Individuals who do not have a valid email address, access to an app-enabled mobile device and/or do not comply with these requirements will not be able to redeem or use e-tickets should they be selected and verified as a winner, will not receive a substitute prize, and should not enter contests where e-tickets are the prize.
  11. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if any contest rules are violated in any way.
  12. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG assumes no liability for situations, repairs, or incidents arising from any aspect of any prize awarded in any contest. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.
  13. As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
  14. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right to amend the rules to any contest at any time. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG's decision is always final. In the event any one of the general contest rules which govern all 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG contests contradict with any specific contest term, the specific contest term will control.
  15. For any contest requiring phone entry you must use only the following number unless otherwise specified: 414-799-1029. For texting it is 414-799-1029. The person processing inbound calls and/or texts at 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG has the final decision as to who is the winning entrant.
  16. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG shall have no responsibility for contestant’s inability or failure to participate, failure to win or claim any prize based on malfunction or difficulties with telephone, cell phone, texting, email, mobile applications, internet access, or any other circumstances in any contest beyond 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG’s control.
  17. For any contest involving on-line voting: If an entrant receives irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated means, 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion and/or use another means to determine the winner(s), ex. – random selection or appointing a panel of judges.
  18. For any contests involving tickets to live performances or events, winners will need to follow all health and public safety guidelines and protocols put in place by the concert organizer.
  19. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG is not responsible for any event cancellations or reschedules.
  20. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG is not responsible for:
    • internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion
    • viruses
    • sabotage
    • satellite failures
    • phone line failures
    • electrical outages
    • natural or man-made disasters
    • lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, unintelligible, returned, or undelivered entries or email
    • lost, interrupted, or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other internet connections, providers, or platforms
    • failed telephone, satellite or cable hardware or software or lines, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions
    • computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties
    • other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, or network

    Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this contest or website, or act in violation of the official service, as solely determined by the station, will be disqualified. Neither sponsor nor promotion parties are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information whether caused by website users, tampering, hacking, or by any of the programming or equipment associated with or used in this contest, and assume no responsibility for any errors, omissions, deletions, interruptions or delays in operation or transmission or communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized website access.

    102.9 THE HOG/WHQG is not responsible for injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulting from participating in this contest. Should any portion of contest be, in 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, unauthorized human intervention (i.e., hackers) or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the station, corrupt or impair administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest, or contest plays, 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the contest.

  21. 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG has not made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on prize (if any) are provided only by the manufacturer, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee.
  22. The following are specifically related to E-contests and E-Mail Club promotions on 1029thehog.com:
    1. All appropriate information in required fields must be entered correctly and completely or you will be disqualified.
    2. To win a prize you must reside within the listening area of 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG as defined at the exclusive discretion of 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG management.
    3. Any problems with the internet or email are not 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG’s responsibility.
    4. Contestants who register to participate on our website may be required to produce a printed copy of proof of registration before being allowed to participate in the contest.
    5. Due to the nature of our programs that are heard on-line over the internet, contests may not be heard at all on 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG. Contests heard on the radio station’s internet audio stream may be slightly delayed from the time the contests are heard on the broadcast station, and will be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all contests heard on the internet are delayed. This delay can last for as much as 30 seconds or more. This means that when 102.9 THE HOG/WHQG contests are played that require a specific caller to telephone the radio station (such as “Caller number 9 when you hear the sound effect”), listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contests on-air.
